Langley School is very proud of its active PTA. Its committee and volunteers raise thousands of pounds each year to provide the students with additional equipment, materials and experiences that they would otherwise not have available. The PTA is not just about raising money, but forging links between the parents, the staff, the students, the local community and the school.
Fundraising events include the annual Christmas raffle, quiz nights, tuck shops, and a summer music festival. We also sell refreshments (including the Chair’s homemade lemon drizzle cake!) at each year groups Parents’ Evening.
The profits from these events enable the PTA to purchase a wide range of equipment for the school each year. Last year, we were able to help the school to lease a brand new minibus. More recently we have paid for new outdoor seating and litter bins for children to make use of during breaks and lunchtime. We are also planning to pay for a video screen and projector for the Dance Studio, as well as some new Bhangra drums and an acoustic guitar for the music department.
All parents/carers with children at the school are welcome to be members of the PTA. You can become involved by attending our planning meetings, or by volunteering to lend a hand at one of our events. Or you can support us by merely turning up at one of our fundraising events!
If you would like to know more about the PTA, please contact us via the school office on 0121 706 9771 or email us at langleypta@outlook.com.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our next meetings – look out for our regular updates on the school’s weekly newsletter.
Thank-you
