This year group has had many challenges thrown their way over the last few years but have approached each one with a positive mindset and have worked hard throughout. They have been rewarded with some outstanding results and will be moving on to study some fantastic courses at 6th forms and local Colleges or have obtained some prestigious apprenticeships. They are an excellent year group; we are very proud of them and grateful for all the support staff and parents have given.
GCSE and vocational qualification results remained high this year. In many areas, results were much improved on the last formal examination window of 2019 and remain on a par with the 2020 and 2021 results during the pandemic. We were particularly pleased to see our English Baccalaureate pass rate remain high with 47% of achieving a grade 4 or above in this challenging range of subjects. It was also rewarding to see the excellent performance of our disadvantaged students who achieved record-breaking results in many areas.
Clare Thorpe, Headteacher, said 'we are delighted with the excellent achievements of the Class of 2022 at Langley School. Despite enormous disruption to their young lives, our pupils have risen admirably to the challenges that they have faced, and their achievements represent their hard work, resilience and determination. Our young people deserve this well-earned success and we are proud of every one of them, for the grades that they have achieved as well as the fine young people they are.'
There are many superb achievements and we are very proud of the Class of 2022. We are just as pleased for those who did everything to get a grade 1 to those who achieved grade 9s. We wish you all the very best for the future. You will always be part of the Langley family and please continue to be best you can be.
